Ceremonies for the Unique, the Brave, and the Wonderfully Different

Hello! I'm Liz, and I create ceremonies that feel like you.

Not the run of the mill version. Not what you think you're supposed to have.

The real, brilliant, sometimes bonkers, always beautiful version of you.

Whether you're planning a wedding in a wildflower meadow, a celebration of life that's more party than sad goodbye, or a naming ceremony featuring your favourite children's book and a jar of local honey, I'm here for it. In fact, I'm buzzing for it. (Yes, that's a bee pun. I keep bees. You'll hear more about that.)

I don't do ordinary. I don't do stuffy.

I do heartfelt, hilarious, meaningful moments that make people go, "That was so them."

Who I Work With

You might be a bit bohemian, a little bit rock and roll, or a lot more adventurous than your neighbors. You might dress in riot of colours or wear your heart on your embroidered sleeve. Perhaps you're an artist, a nurse, a farmer, a firefighter, or someone who just wants to do things differently.

You might have specific needs or family members with additional requirements that other celebrants seem nervous about. Not me. I've worked in social care for 35 years—learning disabilities, autism, physical needs, dementia. I know how to make sure everyone feels included and valued.

You definitely want someone who won't make you yawn through your own ceremony. Someone who gets that love comes in all forms, that grief needs laughter too, and that the best celebrations involve a good dose of personality.

If you're nodding along thinking, "Yes! That's me!" then brilliant. You're exactly who I want to work with.

My Secret Ingredients

I bring a few unique touches to every ceremony:

  • Logo-Element-Claret

    Poetry From the Heart

I write bespoke poems for my couples and families. Funny ones, touching ones, occasionally ridiculous ones. They're entirely personal to you, and they're my favourite part of any ceremony. Poetry has a way of capturing what ordinary words sometimes can't.

    Songs & Stories

I'm a semi-professional singer and performer. While singing isn't a standard offering, if your ceremony needs a particular song or moment, we can talk about weaving that in. I've sung at weddings and funerals, and there's something magical about live music in an outdoor space.

    Golden Bees & Natural Magic

I'm a beekeeper with eight hives in the South Shropshire hills. My bees make the most beautiful honey, and I weave this into ceremonies in ways that surprise and delight. Honey tasting ceremonies, beeswax unity candles, bee balm as gifts, even the old tradition of "telling the bees" about major life events. It's unique to me and adds a touch of natural wonder to your celebration.

    The Great Outdoors

I absolutely love outdoor ceremonies. Woods, hills, meadows, riversides, your back garden—anywhere nature shows up is where I'm happiest. Hand fasting under an oak tree, scattering ashes on a hilltop, jumping the broom in a wildflower meadow. This is my element.

    A Sense of Adventure

I climbed to Everest Base Camp last year. I'm planning Hadrian's Wall next, possibly Kilimanjaro after that. Why does this matter? Because I understand the courage it takes to do something different, to commit to the path less travelled. Your ceremony might be your personal Everest, and I'm honored to make that journey with you.

Work With Me

Weddings & Commitment Ceremonies

Outdoor handfasting under ancient trees, barn celebrations filled with laughter, intimate garden ceremonies with just your closest humans (and possibly your dog). Every wedding I create is completely bespoke—your love story, your way.

Naming Ceremonies

Welcome your little one (or not-so-little one) to the world with a celebration that reflects your family's values and spirit. Winnie the Pooh readings for the young ones, guideparents instead of godparents, symbolic elements that mean something real to you.

Funerals & Celebrations of Life

Saying goodbye should honour the person you loved, not follow a script. Natural burials, woodland ceremonies, celebration of life events that actually celebrate. I help families create meaningful farewells that feel right.

Vow Renewals

Whether it's been five years or fifty, renewing your commitment deserves something special. Let's create a ceremony that celebrates how far you've come and where you're headed next.

Why Choose Me?

    I Make You Feel Safe

People tell me I have a calming presence. When you're nervous about speaking in front of everyone, worried about a family member with dementia or additional needs feeling comfortable, or just anxious about the whole thing, I'm your solid rock. You'll feel grounded, confident, and at ease.

    I Take Risks With You

Want to incorporate something unusual? Write your own vows in the style of Dr. Seuss? Have your ceremony in a treehouse? Scatter ashes while releasing wildflower seeds? Tell me your wild idea, and I'll help make it happen. I'm brave when you need me to be.

    I Genuinely Care

This isn't just a job to me. After 35 years of working with people in social care, bringing up three children on my own, bell-ringing at weddings for two decades, and now creating ceremonies professionally—I've learned that what matters most is making people feel valued and happy. If I can make you happy, I'm happy.

    I'm Properly Qualified

I'm a certified celebrant through the Academy of Modern Celebrancy, and I've also trained with Women Empowered. I've presented at the Shropshire Care Awards, appeared on local radio and podcasts, and worked with people from all walks of life. I know what I'm doing, even when we're making it up as we go along.

The South Shropshire Hills

I live and work in one of the most beautiful parts of England—South Shropshire, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The blue remembered hills of A.E. Housman's poetry. Rolling countryside, ancient woods, winding rivers, and meadows full of wildflowers. My bees live here, and so do I.

I cover Shropshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Powys, and the West Midlands regularly. For the right ceremony, I'll travel anywhere in the country. The landscape here shapes how I work—I'm drawn to natural settings, outdoor spaces, and celebrations that feel connected to the earth.

What Happens Next?

Getting started is simple. Drop me a message telling me a bit about yourself and what you're planning. We'll arrange a chat—either in person over a cuppa or online if that's easier. No pressure, no sales pitch, just a friendly conversation about what you'd like and whether we're a good fit.

I use questionnaires to help gather your stories and ideas, but mostly I just listen. You know what you want your ceremony to feel like, even if you don't know exactly what that looks like yet. That's my job to figure out with you.
